This multifunctional polymer develops fresh formulations that readily melt on the skin. VISCOLAM® AT 100 P is an emulsifier and a very efficient viscosity increasing agent for O/W systems comes in a ready-to-use liquid, based on the “Hydro Swelling Droplets” concept. It is sold as a W/O emulsion, which inverts instantly to O/W emulsion when it is added to water, providing thickening and emulsion effects. VISCOLAM® AT 100 P is pre-neutralised, so that the product thickens as soon as it comes in contact with water. VISCOLAM® AT 100 P is compatible with neutral, as well as acidic and alkaline environments (pH 3-11) VISCOLAM® AT 100 P is unpreserved as supplied and is acrylamide free. VISCOLAM® AT 100 P is a extremely versatile,use polymeric thickener/stabiliser. It makes it possible to emulsify and stabilise several types of oil phases in a widerange of pH (pH 3.0 – 11), regardless of the chemical nature and polarity of the oil system used. Average use levels of around 2% (as supplied) is enough to generate thick emulsions; VISCOLAM® AT 100 P can also be used at lower levels (0.5 – 0.8%) as a co-emulsifier. VISCOLAM® AT 100P can be used in leave-on products: creams, lotions, milks, sunscreens. It can thicken fatty phase-based products, it stabilizes high amount of fatty phases and has a very high compatibility with silicones. VISCOLAM® AT 100 P shows a good compatibility with DHA, which makes it ideal for the formulation of self- tanning products. It can also be used to stabilise and suspend inorganic UV filters, such as Titanium Dioxide, in sun care emulsions. VISCOLAM® AT 100 P can be added at any step of the formulation process, both in hot and cold processes. To thicken rapidly it is suggested to use the “water & oil dispersion” addition: prepare a premix of water and oil phase, then add VISCOLAM® AT 100 P under stirring.
