Gunpowder tea is a speciality Chinese green tea. It gets its name from the resemblance to gunpowder that these tightly rolled leaves give to the finished tea, or perhaps it’s is from the way the rolled leaves explode into life when you add hot water. First recorded in the Tang dynasty over 1000 years ago, Ahmad Tea master blenders respect this tradition by selecting only the very best teas available for use in our Green Gunpowder. Gunpowder tea has the lowest caffeine content of any of our teas, and this amber coloured, refreshing brew is therefore suitable for drinking at any time of the day.
