Our flame test kit contains 25 grams of each chemical and 25g of Magnesium Ribbon, which provides the materials needed to demonstrate flame colours of six different metals. When burned, the metal or metalloid ion contained in each chemical imparts a characteristic colour to the flame. This kit can be used to demonstrate the “flame test” method of identifying minerals. The sample chemicals are packaged 25 grams each in five plastic jars with snap lids. For SAFETY, wear chemical splash goggles and a lab apron as well as protective gloves. Young children/teenagers should only perform the experiment under adult supervision.
